The South Africa Foundation is an independent organisation, financed entirely by private subscription from corporate and individual members to promote the best long-term interests of South Africa and its people. It encourages a more informed understanding of South Africa through research, distribution of information and direct contact at top level throughout the world. Being an information and communication organisation, it has two basic functions – to provide facts about South Africa to a world audience and, by analysing and interpreting international trends and perceptions, to engender an informed approach by South Africans themselves, as part of the world economy. It seeks to serve not just its predominantly business constituency but also the country as a whole
